Between 2007-2010, fast food accounted for 11.3%, just over a tenth of the daily calories in the typical American diet. For overweight individuals, 11.2% of calories came from fast food, and 13.1% for obese individuals. Percentage of calories from fast-food were highest among African Americans compared to Caucasians and Hispanics. Especially among the younger population of African Americans where 21.1% of daily calories came from fast food.
