It’s no surprise that once Apple released its HealthKit platform at the recent WWDC, Google (Google Fit) and Samsung (SAMI) would cash in on the timing with their own announcements. With wearables becoming the next idee fixee, the talk is all about tracking blood pressure, calories, workout levels – and even blood glucose, with iHealth Lab’s BG5 that connects through the headphone jack – and taking that to your doctor. But, with HIPAA compliance? The big boys do not seem that interested in approaching consumer data that way, for now.
