On October 1st, the Affordable Care Act’s Health Insurance Marketplace opened to the public. According to the Affordable Care Act, all Americans are required to have health insurance by early 2014. Those who do not have insurance will be required to pay a penalty fine. The Health Insurance Marketplace makes it easier for anyone to find an insurance plan. The Marketplace is organized by state and the plans sold have limits set on how much you have to pay each year. The Marketplace offers plans for different income levels and it can help you to find other programs you qualify for lke Medicaid or the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.
