The most wired hospitals are moving on from computerized provider order entry, alerts, and medication matching at the bedside to data analytics and population health management, according to Hospital and Health Networks’ (HHN) 16th Most Wired Survey. Among Most Wired hospitals, 36% conduct controlled experiments or scenario planning to make better management decisions and to do forecasting, according to the 2014 Most Wired Survey. Across the board, the number drops to 27%. The survey also reported that 61% of these hospitals, compared with 49% of all respondents, incorporate predictive modeling and data for decision-making across multiple departments.
HHN also announced its Innovator Award winners for 2014, which are
UPMC Technology Development Center, Baptist Health South Florida, and Citizens Memorial Hospital.
