This week the NPRM for meaningful use 3 of patient-generated health data was made available to the public. The article refers to 3 measures that were important towards getting the patient-generated data. Although it is possible to get the data from the patients themselves, they want to introduce this technological way to take up any inconveniences they may run into.
“Measure 2: For >35% of all unique patients, a secure message should be sent using electronic messaging function of CEHRT to the patient, or in response to a secure message sent by the patient.”
Each measure has it’s own focus in the entire process. Like in measure 2, they stress the importance of using (CCHRT) Certified Electronic Health Record Technology so that the information between the patient and medical team has direct engagement. The article also touches base on the best tools out there that would be beneficial for this process.
